23rd August 2024

I've just uploaded the final video of my 3 part armrest restoration series.

Armrest restoration video with nothing left out

The armrest kit is a perfect starting point for restoring your Spitfire or GT6 armrest. It is nice and small so that you can trim it up on your kitchen table. It also introduces you to the skills and techniques that you can use on more complex projects.

I've broken the process down into 5 steps:

Step 1 - Preparation - video 1

Step 2 - Add foam - video 1

Step 3 - Fit the cover - video 2

Step 4 - Fit the gaiter - video 3

Step 5 - Clean and finesse - video 3

There is so much more information than I could ever include in the written instructions. I show you how adjust the tension on the cover to adjust the piping, how to turn he seams to remove kinks, how to ease fitting of the gaiter strip...

I would seriously recommend these videos to anyone, before you start trimming up your armrest. That way you will have the confidence and knowledge to get the best possible results from your kit.

I need your help...

...if you take a look at any of the videos please click the 'Like' thumbs up button on YouTube.

'Likes' are the way YouTube decides which videos to show people. Simply by clicking the Like button you will be helping other Spitfire and GT6 owners to find useful videos amongst the endless rubbish.

What next?

Making the videos was fun but very time consuming. All told, I probably spent over 50 hours making these 3 videos so I'm not going to jump into seats just yet... if you want any help JUST ASK. I'm always happy to help and have got loads of extra photos that I can send you.

I'm thinking of adding a video of retrimming a headrest. It's another kit that is great for beginner trimmers and is also one of my most popular.

Happy viewing and don't forget about the 'Like' button.

Cheers, Owen

Like what you see?

If your armrest is held together with duct tape or could do with a refresh then take a look at my kit. It could be the start of a whole new career... it was for me!
